Make the stars your old friends as we watch the great celestial show over Siren (South Fork Sporting Club).
Following a short orientation, you’ll enjoy quality time outside under the heavens getting to know the constellations like The Big Bear, Orion the Hunter, Leo the Lion, and some of their great stories behind them. We’ll also use large telescopes, among the largest mobile telescopes in Minnesota and Wisconsin, for close-up views of the moon, star clusters, nebulae, galaxies, and other wonders in the Autumn skies.
You’ll also get a large handout package with user-friendly
star maps and constellation charts, apps, websites, a telescope-buying guide, and more!
Mike Lynch is a retired meteorologist from WCCO Radio and
has been hosting star watch parties and teaching astronomy for
nearly 50 years. He also writes a weekly stargazing column for
the St. Paul Pioneer Press and is the author of the book “Stars, a Month by Month Tour of the Constellations,” that’ll be available for purchase. Super cool glow-in-the-dark star shirts will also be available, along with some of Mike Lynch’s astrophotography.
Even if it’s cloudy you’ll learn a lot, have a great time!

You are not considered registered unless you are paid OR arrangements to pay have been made! All classes are available if you can see them, classes will be removed if full or a wait list will be added. A minimum of 5 people are needed for the class to happen . Registration must be completed 1 week prior to classes. You will be notified via email 2-3 days prior to the event with confirmation and further instructions.
