Thank you to The 100 Women Who Care!

At the meeting, four non-profit groups presented to the women, explaining their missions, needs, and what they would do with the donation if they were selected to receive it. Members voted for the group they deemed most deserving, ultimately choosing to award $10,000 to the first place winner, CUE of Siren and Webster, 100 Women Who Care - Polk/Burnett continues to grow and thrive, welcoming new members each quarter. 100 Women Who Care - Polk/Burnett recently held their November quarterly meeting at Wilkins Bar & Resort in Luck. At the meeting, four non-profit groups presented to the women, explaining their missions, needs, and what they would do with the donation if they were selected to receive it. Members voted for the group they deemed most deserving, ultimately choosing to award $10,000 to the first place winner, CUE of Siren and Webster, an organization that provides lifelong opportunities for citizens to affect the quality of life within the community by sharing their knowledge, skills, and interests with one another. The organization will use the donated funds towards initiatives that will enhance the educational, recreational, and social opportunities for kids, families, and senior citizens within our community. The organization that received the second most votes was Wild Rivers Habitat for Humanity, an organization that has a mission to eliminate poverty housing in Northwest Wisconsin and beyond. They will use their $1,500 donation to support Veterans through building and home repair projects. 100 Women Who Care - Polk/Burnett meets quarterly, on the second Wednesday evening of February, May, August, and November. Their next meeting, scheduled for February 12, 2025 will be held via online vote due to the possibility of inclimiate weather and the large number of members who spend the winter months in a warmer climate. Members will receive non-profit information and a link to vote online closer to the meeting date. If you are interested in joining the group or would like to submit an application to present, please visit www.100wwc-pb.weebly.com or send an inquiry to 100wwc.pb@gmail.com. You can also “Like” the group on Facebook at “100 Women Who Care - Polk/Burnett” for information on upcoming meetings and donations made. 100 Women Who Care - Polk/Burnett continues to grow and thrive, welcoming new members each quarter. They truly value the community businesses who support their group and make their meetings possible and offer a special thank you to Wilkins Bar & Resort for hosting their November meeting free of charge.
