If you’re the kind of person who loves to curl up with a good book, you know there’s nothing quite like the power of a well told story. Maybe you’ve even given some thought to writing a story of your own. If you’ve got a story percolating and you’re ready to put pen to paper come join our Burnett County Writer’s Group. Feel free to drop in anytime. In each session we’ll discuss different elements of writing such as plotting and character development, as well how to query a literary agent and the publishing process. If you have a project you’re currently working on and are looking for feedback, a writer’s group is a great first step to share your pages. Hope to see you there. Please register prior to attending
About your instructor:
After twenty plus years in Southern California working as a cop, Wisconsin native Neal Griffin began toying with the idea of writing a novel. In fact, he told some many stories to so many people, it was his
wife who said, “You should just write a d*%n book.” So he did. And then he wrote another and another.
Neal has published four novels with Macmillan Publishing. He is a Los Angeles Times Bestselling Author
and two-time winner of the San Diego “Best Novel” Book Award. In a starred review, Booklist called his
most recent novel, The Burden of Truth, “one of the finest reading experiences of the year”. His fifth
novel is under contract and will be published in 2025. Neal retired early as a cop and has recently
returned to Wisconsin with his family. He now lives in Burnett County and writes fulltime… and still tells
a lot of stories.

All classes are available if you can see them, classes will be removed if full or a wait list will be added. A minimum of 5 people are needed for the class to happen . Registration must be completed 1 week prior to classes. You will be notified via email 2-3 days prior to the event with confirmation and further instructions.
