This is an introductory blacksmithing class with no prerequisites. By the end of the class each student will be reasonably proficient in these fundamentals of blacksmithing: cutting, tapering, bending, upsetting, shouldering, and rudimentary scrolling. Working with three different sized square steel bars each student will take home 9 “S” hooks, 9 “J” hooks and 9 latch hooks. Students must bring their own 2# to 4# hammer and leather work gloves. There is a $30.00 materials fee payable to the instructor on the first day of class.
